He is currently vice president of member services and communications at Bloomington-based Hoosier Energy Rural Electric Cooperative Inc.
IEC Board Chair Mark Evans says VanParis’ diverse background will help him "forge partnerships and strengthen us" to face industry challenges. VanParis will begin his new position with the 80-year-old organization October 19.
He has worked at Hoosier Energy since 2007, where he oversees energy efficiency and other management and economic development efforts. He has also served in executive roles with the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s National Consulting Group and Buckeye Power.
Indiana Electric Cooperates represents 38 electric distribution cooperatives covering 1.3 million Hoosiers in almost every Indiana county.
