More than $22,500 is being awarded to organizations planning to bring visitors into Porter County and the Indiana Dunes area by building new attractions or organizing festivals, events and meetings.
Indiana Dunes Tourism Executive Director Lorelei Weimer says the grants were reimplemented after being on hiatus in 2021 because of the pandemic.
“Grants are a major part of our organization’s mission,” said Weimer. “We’re even more excited to be able to support local organizations, which help make this area an even more attractive destination for travelers and residents alike.”
The recipients are listed below:
- Art Barn School of Art
- The City of Valparaiso
- Taking Care of Presley EP Fan Club
- Le Tour de Shore LLC
- Lightning Bug Music Festival Inc.
- Lutheran Music Program
- Northwest Indiana Junior Golf Association NIJGA
- Duneland Economic Development Co.
- Athletx Sports Group/Pastime Tournaments
- Porter County Sheriff’s Office
The organization says the funding can be used for developing and enhancing attractions, as well as advertising, printing and promotional expenses that encourage overnight stays.
