The funding comes from the Indiana Connectivity Program, which helps internet providers with the expense of extending their services to underserved locations throughout the state.
In the ninth round of funding through the program, 152 addresses will receive broadband access, including 146 households and six businesses. The internet service providers are matching the grants with just over $1 million in funding.
The program, which launched in September 2021, requires homeowners or businesses to apply for better internet connections.
“There is a direct connection between quality of life and reliable broadband service,” Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch said in a news release. “Congratulations to these 152 households and businesses who put in the work to obtain this funding and move Indiana one step closer to every Hoosier having access to broadband in their communities.”
