Subscribe NowOnline publication Computerworld has unveiled its 2023 ranking of the Best Places to Work in IT, and three Indiana companies made the list. The ranking is based on an annual survey of readers, PR professionals, and others who nominate companies they consider great employers for IT workers.
To be eligible, companies must have a minimum of five IT employees and 100 total employees. IT employees are defined as individuals who “provide technology support and services to their own company — or to multiple companies through their work at an IT service provider.”
The list is broken down into three categories: Large organizations (5000+ employees), Midsize organizations (1,001 to 4,999 employees) and Small organizations (1,000 or fewer employees).
The University of Notre Dame ranks highest among Hoosier representatives at No. 12 in the Large category, followed by Warsaw-based Zimmer Biomet Holdings Inc. (NYSE: ZBH) at No. 33.
Indianapolis-based consulting firm Resultant ranks No. 2 in the Small category.
“This recognition reflects how providing a fulfilling environment for IT professionals to learn, grow and flourish positively impacts the outcomes we’re able to deliver for IT MSP clients,” Ryan Schebler, executive vice president of managed services at Resultant, said in written remarks. “We see technology as fundamental to an organization’s ability to thrive, so we approach IT solutions in the same way we approach our culture: from a holistic, human-focused perspective.”
There were no Indiana representatives in the Midsize category.
The rankings were further broken down into several subcategories.
Resultant is ranked No. 2 for IT growth, No. 7 for benefits, No. 1 for hybrid work and No. 4 for employee engagement among small companies.
Zimmer Biomet ranks No. 4 for benefits, while Notre Dame ranks No. 9 for hybrid work, No. 8 for career development, and No. 8 for employee engagement among large companies.
