The nonprofit says the rebrand allows it to continue supporting place-based community engagement and service-learning initiatives.
“Under our new name, we are maintaining our time-honored mission to advance the field of community engagement and create positive social change by educating, supporting, and collaborating with our partners in higher education,” said Summer Webb, interim executive director and chief operating officer of Community-Engaged Alliance.
The nonprofit supports partner organizations through funding and professional development opportunities, with the ultimate goal of helping college students become community leaders.
“We have an incredible legacy of serving colleges and universities for almost 30 years, and this rebranding will ensure our legacy will continue well into the future,” Webb said. “We will continue to challenge all colleges and universities to make community engagement an institutional priority.”
Each year, Community-Engaged Alliance says it invests hundreds of thousands of dollars in its partners through grants, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
According to a post on its Facebook page, the organization is currently hiring an executive director.
