Fisher, who will begin his new role September 7, takes over for the retiring Karl Berron, who has served as CEO since 2007.
The statewide trade association, which is headquartered in downtown Indianapolis, says Fisher previously served as chief policy officer for the Indy Chamber.
“We are thrilled to welcome Mark Fisher to the Indiana Association of Realtors,” said Paul Wyman, former IAR president and chair of the CEO search committee. “With Mark’s experience in economic and community development, transportation, local government, and fiscal policy matters, he’s poised to hit the ground running and take the association to the next level, which is to help make our state and communities stronger.”
Prior to his work with the Indy Chamber, Fisher led Develop Indy, the local economic development corporation where he oversaw business development for The Hagerman Group, a Fort Wayne-based construction company.
“Mark was the perfect candidate for this time in the association’s 100-plus year history,” said Indianapolis’ Roger Lundy, 2021 IAR president. “Realtors have a long track record of protecting private property rights and serving our communities on an individual basis. Mark’s talents will help Realtors continue and grow that legacy all around the state.”
Fisher says he will work on protecting private property rights and strengthening neighborhoods around the state.
