Indiana among top states for casino tourism

Subscribe NowBetMGM has revealed its list of the 15 Best U.S. States for Casino Tourism, and Indiana has made the cut. Las Vegas-based sportsbook ranked the states based on a variety of factors, including number of total casinos, number of casino employees per capita, and cost of airfare into the state.
Each state received a score out of 100 determined by the factors, which were weighed depending on how important they would be to casino tourism. Other factors included casino hotel operations, rating of casinos on Tripadvisor, Airbnb costs, average cost of ride shares, and WiFi speed.
Indiana ranks No. 12 in this year’s list, which evaluated the 43 states in the U.S. that have casinos. Indiana’s total score was 59.8, compared to the No. 1 state, Nevada, which scored 87.3.
On the individual metrics, Indiana ranked third each for the average cost of an Airbnb at $212.01 and the average cost of airfare into the state at $392.68.
Indiana has 13 casinos, the most recent of which—Terre Haute Casino Resort—opened in April.
