This year’s NASCAR race will be known as the Brantley Gilbert Big Machine Brickyard 400, featuring the country music star who will perform on race day.
Gilbert will perform during pre-race celebrations at the event, which is scheduled for July 23. IMS says more details about the agreement, including plans for next year’s race, will be announced on race day as well.
"We have enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Big Machine, and we’re thrilled to see that expand through this very unique entitlement sponsorship," said IMS President Doug Boles. "This partnership will bring a big-name artist our fans know and love to IMS, enhancing what already is one of NASCAR’s marquee event weekends."
Big Machine Label Group has sponsored several performances at past IMS events and also sponsored Verizon IndyCar Series driver Sage Karam in the 2014 Indianapolis 500, featuring Gilbert’s likeness on Karam’s car. The record label features a roster of artists, including Taylor Swift, Reba McEntire and Florida Georgia Line.
The announcement comes in addition to 400 Fest, a two-night concert featuring pop and EDM artists The Chainsmokers and Major Lazer.
