Subscribe NowIndiana Municipal Power Agency has promoted Frank Smardo (pictured) to senior vice president of engineering. He joined the agency in 2001 as planning engineer and most recently served as vice president of market operations. Smardo holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University, as well as an MBA from the IU Kelley School of Business. IMPA also promoted Peter Prettyman (pictured) to senior vice president and general counsel. He joined the agency in 2014 as vice president and general counsel. He previously served as a litigation attorney with Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP. Prettyman earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, where he graduated with honors. He holds a B.A. from Vanguard University of Southern California. Kyle Brouillette was appointed director of market operations. He joined the agency in 2010 as an electric operations analyst and most recently served as senior operations analyst. Brouillette holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, and holds an MBA from the IU Kelley School of Business. Mel Denton was named assistant combustion turbine manager. He has been with IMPA since 2005, when he started as a combustion turbine operator/technician. Denton previously served as a reactor operator in the U.S. Navy’s nuclear power program and also as an equipment operator at First Energy’s Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station.
