The company’s $1.2 million investment is expected to include 15 new jobs in North Judson by 2019.
The salaries are expected to be 40 percent higher than average in Starke County. Founder and President Nan Wellman says "fiscally, Indiana is a better fit for my growing company. It will be nice to be part of a community where every job created helps benefit an area in need of employment opportunities for the betterment of the people who live there. Not to mention I was born and raised in Indiana, so it will be great to be back home in Indiana again!"
OTES is planning renovations to a 74,000-square-foot facility in North Judson that include a new roof, plumbing and electrical systems, plus additional equipment. A larger footprint will allow the company to expand carpentry and graphics workshops. The new operation is expected to launch next year. OTES currently employs eight full-time workers and the company says some will relocate to northwest Indiana.
The trade show industry business has been offered up to $115,000 in conditional tax credits from the Indiana Economic Development Corp.
