The Indiana High School Athletic Association has selected Paul Neidig as its next commissioner. Neidig, who has served as an assistant commissioner since 2017, will begin his new role in August.

Neidig, a native of Poseyville, succeeds Bobby Cox, who in January announced his plans to retire this summer.

During his time as an assistant commissioner, Neidig has administered boys and girls cross country, boys basketball, boys and girls track and field, and unified track and field.

“Paul has some great thoughts and ideas about how to continue leading the Association and its member schools,” said Matt Martin, chairman of the IHSAA Executive Committee. “We feel the organization is in great hands and we look forward to working with him.”

Before joining the IHSAA, Neidig spent more than 30 years with the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corp., most recently serving as chief of staff and director of athletics. He has also been a member of the IHSAA Board of Directors from 2004 to 2017, with three stints as chairman of the executive committee.
