The department says the plan focuses on improving instruction, implementing evidence-based STEM curriculum and early STEM career exposure.
IDOE says the strategy builds on accomplishments it has made since 2017, including adding 60 STEM-infused K-12 districts, delivering STEM-focused professional development to 16,000 Indiana educators and working with more than 1,000 school leaders on models using "systems thinking." The department hopes to have the objectives outlined in plan complete by 2025.
