The funding will support projects over a 10-year period to address nitrogen oxide emissions from Volkswagen vehicles.
Governor Eric Holcomb in 2017 created an 11-member Indiana Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Trust Fund Committee to work alongside IDEM to develop the mitigation plan. The organizations have held public meetings throughout the state over the last year. IDEM Commissioner Bruno Pigott says the resulting plan "is a reflection of input from Hoosiers across the state."
The plan still faces advisory committee consideration and approval. You can see the full plan by clicking here.
