Dunn Hospitality Group’s David Dunn says it’s a prime site for the Hyatt Place and Hyatt House hotel, because guests will have access to 18 food and beverage outlets along with top-line entertainment and shopping venues without leaving the campus.
Dunn spoke with Inside INdiana Business Reporter Mary-Rachel Redman Thursday as officials broke ground on the $110 million development.
The culinary and entertainment hub was first announced in December 2016. The next year, Mayor Scott Fadness announced the first tenants of the development would be St. Elmo’s extensions 1933 Lounge and Burger Study. Since then, Indianapolis-based Sun King Brewing Co. announced plans for a $2.5 million specialty production craft brewery and tap room there.
The Yard, which will sit on 17 acres near the Fishers IKEA store, will also include a culinary accelerator.
The hotel concept will incorporate two different brands into one six-story building. It will include the Hyatt Place with 125 rooms and Hyatt House with 86 rooms. Construction is slated to begin in August and take 15 months to complete. Dunn expects the project to result in 50 new jobs.
