Hoosier schools among ‘America’s Top Online Colleges’

The publication partnered with research data firm Statista to rank the top 200 colleges and universities that offer online undergraduate and graduate programs.
The ranking was determined based on a survey of more than 9,000 online learners, as well as the partners’ research about the institutions.
Six Indiana schools made the list, led by IUPUI at No. 33. Ball State University is ranked No. 35, followed by Purdue University at No. 75, Indiana State University at No. 101, Purdue University Northwest in Hammond and Westville at No. 139, and Purdue University Fort Wayne at No. 162.
Each school was also given a star rating, and IUPUI, Ball State and Purdue each received the maximum five stars. The remaining Indiana schools received four stars.
“I’m so proud that we’ve been recognized for our excellence in distance education, something we have done well for many years,” Indiana State University Provost Christopher Olsen said in a news release. “Our faculty and staff do a tremendous job offering affordable programs via distance, and it’s gratifying that their quality and rigor are being honored among the best in the nation.”
The ranking is led by Stanford University, the University of Texas at Austin, New York University, Oklahoma State University, and Johns Hopkins University.
