The Indiana Destination Development Corp. is encouraging Hoosiers to blaze the Hoosier Pie Trail from ‘Pie Day-to-Pi Day’ with the Indiana Culinary Trails Passport.
The department says anyone who checks in at two restaurants on the Hoosier Pie Trail will earn a custom t-shirt and be entered to win free pie for a year from Mrs. Wick’s Pie. Winners will also receive a VIP tour of Mrs. Wick’s Pie’s Winchester factory.
“While the sugar cream pie is considered the unofficial state pie, Hoosier bakers enjoy making a wide variety of pies in their kitchens,” said Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch. “Pie Day to Pi Day is a great opportunity to taste some of the best pies in Indiana.”
The Indiana Foodways Alliance includes 24 restaurants on the trail. The contest runs through March 14, or Pi Day.
