The hospitals were rated on “how well patients feel that their physicians explained things clearly, listened carefully to them, and treated them with courtesy and respect.”
Becker’s compiled the list based on information from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, specifically data from the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems, or HCAHPS.
The list, which is not a ranking, highlights the hospitals that received the full, five-star rating, which is based on survey data collected from hospital patients in 2022.
The Indiana representatives from the list are:
- Cameron Memorial Community Hospital (Angola)
- Dukes Memorial Hospital (Peru)
- Greene County General Hospital (Linton)
- Johnson Memorial Hospital (Franklin)
- Northwest Health-Starke (Knox)
- OrthoIndy Hospital (Indianapolis)
- Schneck Medical Center (Seymour)
- Unity Physicians Hospital (Mishawaka)
- Woodlawn Hospital (Rochester)
“Patient safety, patient satisfaction and positive patient outcomes all depend on effective communication,” Schneck Medical Center CEO Eric Fish said in a news release. “I am so appreciative and proud of the care and compassion Schneck physicians provide our patients. They spend more time listening to and learning about our patients to provide exceptional, high-quality care.”
