The 2016 IndustryWeek 50 Best US Manufacturers considers factors including total revenue, growth and inventory turnover.
The top four companies on this year’s list are Apple Inc., Polaris Industries Inc., Deluxe Corp. and Sanderson Farms Inc.
Indiana manufacturers include:
5. Elkhart-based Thor Industries (NYSE: THO)
11. Elkhart-based Drew Industries (NYSE: DW)
24. Lafayette-based Wabash National Corp. (NYSE: WNC)
The 2016 list is significantly different than last year’s, which also featured three Hoosier companies. In 2015, Thor was 20th, Columbus-based Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI), which is not included this year, was ranked 36th and in 46th was Wabash National.
Wabash National Chief Executive Officer Dick Giromini says his company is looking for another record year. "When being compared to the largest and best performing publicly traded manufacturers in the United States, four consecutive record years doesn’t guarantee a spot on IndustryWeek‘s ranking," he said. "We’ve made a significant transformation from primarily a van trailer producer to a diversified industrial manufacturer, which continues to be a key driver of our growth and performance."
