Subscribe NowNewsweek has released its annual list of “America’s Greatest Workplaces for Parents and Families,” and several Indiana-based companies are included. The companies were evaluated on a number of criteria, including work-life balance, working environment, and corporate culture.
The list of the top 800 companies is based on an employer survey, as well as a sample set of more than 36,000 parents.
Working with New York-based Plant-A Insights Group, the publication received over 224,000 reviews of companies with at least 1,000 employees across all industry sectors.
The Indiana companies on the list, which is not a ranking, are:
- Vera Bradly Inc. (Fort Wayne)
- Eli Lilly and Co. (Indianapolis)
- Elevance Health (Indianapolis)
- Benchmark Human Services (Fort Wayne)
- Cummins Inc. (Columbus)
- Community Care Network Indiana (Munster)
- AM General (South Bend)
- 1st Source Bank (South Bend)
- F.A. Wilhelm Construction (Indianapolis)
“We’re proud to offer a culture that lifts families up, and helps parents strike the right balance with their professional and personal duties, which in turn offers a level of peace to them and their loved ones that helps everyone thrive,” Dan Lifferth, human resources group head for 1st Source Bank,” said in a news release. “Families are so important to our communities, and to this bank and the values we live by, so it touches my heart to receive this recognition.”
Newsweek also lists Tyson Foods among the Indiana companies. While Tyson is not headquartered in Indiana, the company does have facilities in Logansport, Portland and Corydon, the latter of which is slated to close next March.
