Hoosier Companies Among ‘Best Employers For Diversity’

Several Indiana companies are included on Forbes’ list of the Best Employers For Diversity 2022. The list ranks 500 employers based on the diversity of their boards and executive ranks, as well as diversity and inclusion initiatives.
The Indiana companies and their ranking are listed below:

- Vera Bradley – No. 11
- NiSource – No. 58
- CNO Financial Group – No. 73
- Ivy Tech Community College – No. 153
- IUPUI – No. 162
- Deaconess Health System – No. 175
- Anthem – No. 228
- Eli Lilly & Co. – No. 296
- 1st Source Bank – No. 383
- BCforward – No. 467
- Steel Dynamics – No. 474
- Shoe Carnival – No. 478
- Zimmer Biomet – No. 492
To determine the list, Germany-based consumer data company Statista surveyed 60,000 U.S. citizens working for businesses with at least 1,000 employees. Participants were asked to rate their organizations on age, gender, and ethnicity, among other criteria. Respondents belonging to underrepresented groups were then asked to nominate organizations other than their own.
Forbes says this year’s list features a higher proportion of banking and financial services, healthcare, social sector and education companies.
