The publication ranked companies based on a variety of factors, including earnings growth, sales growth, and return on equity over a 12-month and five-year period.
Forbes used data from FactSet to compile the list, screening more than 1,000 companies with a market value between $300 million and $2 billion. Nearly 550 companies were identified that had positive sales growth over the past 12 months and a share price of at least $5.
Elkhart-based building products manufacturer Patrick Industries Inc. (Nasdaq: PATK) is the highest-ranked Indiana company at No. 30. Lafayette-based Wabash (NYSE: WNC), which manufactures semi trailers and liquid transportation systems, is ranked No. 100.
“This recognition is a testament to how we’ve grown and structured the company to serve customers across product classes from first to final mile,” Wabash CEO Brent Yeagy said in a news release. “Coming off a record year in 2022, we credit our strong financial performance to our refreshed growth strategy and, importantly, commercial execution.”
New York-based SIGA Technologies tops the 2023 list, followed by Vaalco Energy in Texas, Cross Country Healthcare in Florida, Clearfield in Minnesota, and Hudson Technologies in New Jersey.
