Holcomb Touts Face Time With Potential Employers

Subscribe NowGovernor Eric Holcomb has wrapped up his first international trade mission as governor and says the trip, which included time at the Paris Air Show and in Hungary, yielded meetings with companies interested in locating to Indiana. The delegation included business, political and economic development leaders from throughout the state and focused on boosting connections with the aviation, aerospace and defense industries.
During the Paris Air Show, the Indiana Economic Development Corp. says the companies the delegation met with include:
- AAR Corp, a global aircraft maintenance, repair and flight control services firm with a facility at the Indianapolis International Airport
- Arconic, formerly owned by Alcoa, has aerospace castings operations in La Porte and aerospace component manufacturing in Lafayette
- Boeing, which has a hangar at the Gary/Chicago International Airport
- GE Aviation, which opened its $100 million jet engine facility in Lafayette in 2015
- Raytheon, a defense technology and innovation manufacturer, which employs more than 1,500 Hoosiers in Indianapolis and Fort Wayne
- Rolls-Royce, which employs some 4,000 Hoosiers, announced a $24 million partnership this week with Purdue University and the state to launch a turbine lab at Purdue
- Praxair, which has facilities in Indianapolis and Burns Harbor
- Safran, which is partnering with GE Aviation on the LEAP engine facility in Lafayette and is the parent of MorphoTrust USA in Fort Wayne
- Thyssenkrupp, which manufactures automotive steering systems and have a Thyssenkrupp Presta location in Terre Haute
- Plus: Bollore Group, the BlueIndy parent company, Faurecia, an automotive supplier with approximately 1,800 Hoosier employees, and Michelin, which has a BF Goodrich Tire plant in Allen County and employs more than 1,200 in Indiana
Holcomb says the visit to Hungary resulted in a first-of-its-kind economic development agreement between the state and the country’s government.
