Staton Named Interim Secretary of Commerce

Staton joined the Indiana Economic Development Corp. in 2005 and has held multiple roles. He currently serves as senior vice president and chief business development officer.
In that position, he oversees the IEDC’s domestic and international business expansion and attraction efforts.
Schellinger stepped down last week, but the memo did not specify why he was resigning. He has served as Indiana Secretary of Commerce since 2017.
Staton earned undergraduate degrees in environmental design and urban planning from Ball State University.
