The Indiana Historical Society has unveiled its 2023 Indiana Living Legends honorees. IHS says the program “recognizes extraordinary Hoosiers for their local, statewide and national accomplishments in a variety of areas and disciplines.”

The award recipients were selected by a committee of civic and corporate leaders. They will be honored August 24 at the IHS’ annual gala, which serves as the signature fundraising event for the not-for-profit.

This year’s Living Legends are:

• Sonny Beck – CEO of Beck’s Hybrids (Atlanta, Ind.)
• Dennis Bland – President of the Center for Leadership Development (Indianapolis)
• Ben Lytle – Serial entrepreneur, former CEO of Anthem (now Elevance Health)
• Tomas Morales – Co-founder of Morales Group Inc.
• Melissa Proffitt – Partner-in-Charge of Client Relations for Ice Miller LLP
