The polesitter for this year’s Indianapolis 500 will be a contestant on ABC’s "Dancing With The Stars," beginning next month.
Hinchcliffe is following in the footsteps of fellow driver Helio Castroneves, who won the competition in 2007. Hinch told IndyCar.com he is excited and nervous about taking part in the show.
"My desire to win is matched only by my inability to dance, which makes for a pretty interesting combination," said Hinchcliffe. "It should be fun and we’re going to try and have some fun. I’m looking forward to getting going."
Other contestants on the show include Olympians Laurie Hernandez and Ryan Lochte, singer/songwriter Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, former NFL wide receiver Calvin Johnson and country singer Jana Kramer. The 23rd season of "DWTS" premieres September 12 at at 8:00 p.m. ET on ABC.
