Subscribe NowA Republican caucus voted Tuesday to have a former Marion General Hospital director fill a House seat once held by State Representative Kevin Mahan. Ann Vermilion received a majority of the votes from GOP caucus-goers, defeating two others vying for the job.
Vermilion will represent Indiana House District 31 which includes all of Blackford County and portions of Delaware, Grant and Wells counties.
The position opened when Mahan stepped down to take a position with Community Health Network.
Vermilion runs a health care consulting business following a lengthy career at MGH.
