The Healthcare Begins with Me campaign features a website that includes stories and videos about health care learning opportunities in northeast Indiana and online games to learn more about various occupations.
The campaign includes a presence on social media sites popular with young people and an e-newsletter distributed to key stakeholders.
Work also is underway to catalog and promote work-based learning opportunities in the health care industry.
The career awareness campaign is supported by an Indiana Department of Education grant and guided by the 60-plus member Northeast Indiana Healthcare Consortium formed by Northeast Indiana Works. The consortium, which aims to grow the health care labor force, includes health care providers, workforce and economic development organizations such as Northeast Indiana Works, and education institutions such as the Region 8 Education Service Center, a regional cooperative formed by area school corporations.
