Canada-based Hardwoods Specialty Products Inc. has invested around $4 million into a new distribution operation in Elkhart. The company says the 135,000 square-foot facility will help better serve customer demand. Its client base throughout the Midwest includes customers in Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, Michigan and Minnesota.
Hardwoods says it currently employs a total of 20 in Elkhart and could add a small number of workers over the next 2 years. The company says panel, lumber, edge banding and mouldings customers will be served through the operation.
Midwest Division General Manager Jason Sencaj says "the Northern Indiana market and the other three Midwest locations have grown by leaps and bounds over the last few years due to a robust economy. This is all driven by our thriving customer base. Hardwoods’ customers and our own people continue to be the company’s most valuable asset. I believe that by helping our customers succeed, we succeed too.
Hardwoods says it has unveiled expansions in California and Arizona this year.
