Hamilton Center details salary increase for nurses, therapists

Subscribe NowTerre Haute-based Hamilton Center Inc. said Tuesday it is increasing salaries for nurses and therapists. The regional health system said the move follows a continuous evaluation of its operational structure, salaries, benefits and culture.
Hamilton Center CEO Melvin Burks said in a news release that the changes are necessary for the organization to continue to serve the 11 counties in which it operates.
“Our top priority will always be to serve the members of our community,” Burks said. “But we know that we must be committed to our staff in order to serve them well.”
The revised starting salaries for nurses are:
- Licensed Practical Nurse – $30 per hour (up from $29)
- Registered Nurse – $37.50 per hour (up from $35)
The revised starting salaries for therapist positions are:
- Associate Licensed/Temporary Licensed Therapist – $60,000 (up from $55,000)
- A $1,000 sign-on bonus to be paid at time of hire, 7 months, and 12 months ($3,000 total).
- Clinically Licensed Therapist – $72,000 base (up from $63,000)
- 3+ years’ experience – $76,0005+ years’ experience – $80,0007+ years’ experience – $84,000
- 10+ years’ experience – $88,000
Hamilton Center cited a 2022 Gallup survey, in which 64% of job applicants said they considered salary as the top factor when selecting a position. The organization said the salary changes are being made “to help satisfy this desire.”
Hamilton Center provides services to children, adults, and families in central and west central Indiana, with specialized programs for expectant mothers, infants, and people who may be struggling with stress, life changes, or relationship issues, as well as more serious problems such as depression, anxiety disorders, and serious mental illnesses.
