Guerin Woods says the Villas of Guerin Woods, an assisted living and skilled nursing facility, was purchased by 1002 Sister Barbara Way Property LLC.
The company will take ownership at the end of the year.
Guerin Woods President and Chief Executive Officer Susan Gernert says the pandemic forced the organization to examine its sustainability as an independent provider of assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care.
“When considering proposals from potential purchasers, our primary focus was on finding a partner with both expertise in long-term care and the ability to sustain our mission into the future,” said Gernert. “We were blessed with multiple offers, had the luxury of being able to actually select our neighbors, and ultimately decided to sell to an organization whose principals include former long-term care administrators who currently operate a small number of other facilities in Indiana.”
The Villas of Guerin Woods were founded by the late Sister Barbara Ann Zeller and opened in 2008 under the auspices of Providence Self Sufficiency Ministries, a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods.
The new owners say they are planning for a seamless transition for both elders and staff. The name of the facility will remain the same.
Guerin Woods will maintain ownership of its other properties in Georgetown.
