Our partners at WTHI-TV report after a year and half, The Pantheon is nearly at full capacity and seeing continuous use of its meeting space from members of the community.
The Pantheon opened in November 2020, though restoration work on the historic theater’s exterior continues. Since the opening, the incubator has one office still available and Chief Executive Officer Nichole Like says members of the community are frequently making use of the theater’s balcony for various meetings.
“It’s really wonderful. It’s a great feeling to see people use the space, to see the community use the space, to really start to understand and embrace what it means to have an entrepreneurial ecosystem in your community,” said Like. “It’s what co-working and business incubation is all about: connecting people in your community with the resources they need to grow business.”
Last November, The Pantheon cut the ribbon on RedAubsTech, an IT firm that is the first startup to launch out of the incubator.
Dartanyan Abney, a graphic artist in Vincennes, went from a member to part of the Pantheon staff. He said having the space available was a great benefit.
“Being able to have an office space on Main street, especially exiting college or going to college at the same time, it was nice being able to have both of those options there available,” Abney told WTHI. “It’s been interesting and like I said, kind of that stepping stone between being a coworker to working with the staff has been very interesting but not as crazy as you’d think it would be.”
In February, officials told the Pantheon board that the $1 million exterior restoration, which was slated for completion this month, would likely be finished in July.
