The $6 million project will be the first to be built at the site of a former OmniSource metal recycling plant just north of the city’s riverfront space.
Plans for the two-story, 16,000-square-foot building were first announced in August 2022. Co-owner Sunny Patel said at the time that the goal was to open the facility in conjunction with the completion of the second phase of the Riverfront Fort Wayne project.
Last month, the city broke ground on Riverfront Open Space Phase IIb, a $40 million project is designed to create expanded public space along the St. Mary’s River, and is slated to take two years to complete.
The groundbreaking on the More Brewing facility is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Monday. Mayor Tom Henry and Fort Wayne Redevelopment Executive Director Jonathan Leist are expected to attend.
