Our partners at the Daily Journal report Peterman Brothers will invest $6.5 million to expand its current location by 54,000 square feet.
The publication says the expansion will result in 150 new jobs, many of which will work at the trade school.
The company started a training program last October and it currently has 17 students learning HVAC and plumbing skills. The program is currently run out of a facility in Indianapolis. With the expansion, the Peterman Top Tech Academy would move to the new location in Greenwood.
The publication says the company is seeking a three-year, $220,000 tax break on the property. A final vote on the tax abatement is expected next month.
