Johnston most recently served as project manager for civil engineering firm HNTB in Indianapolis.
In his new role, Johnston will oversee the administration and operation of Greenwood’s Department of Community Development Services. The city says he will be responsible for planning, designing and monitoring the infrastructure throughout the city and directing the inspection and oversight of city construction projects.
"Daniel has the experience and skills to be a valuable leader in the Greenwood community," said Greenwood Mayor Mark Myers. "He is a determined individual who is willing to go above and beyond what is expected of him, and we’re fortunate to have him in this important role."
Johnston joined HNTB as an engineer in 2007. He says working with the city will provide an opportunity to broaden his expertise while making a positive impact on the community.
