The CDC says the award recognizes loans made to small business owners using the U.S. Small Business Administration’s 504 loan program.
The awards were given out during the Indiana Statewide CDC’s annual meeting in Indianapolis. The bank says 21 Indiana banks were in the running for the small-business lender of the year award.
Community First Bank of Indiana, which is headquartered in Kokomo, came in second for the award.
For the fifth consecutive year, First Merchants Bank in Muncie had the most SBA 504 loans approved by Indiana Statewide CDC.
Lake City Bank won two awards; most dollars approved for SBA 504 loans and an award to Brian Burrell for individual banker with most loans approved and highest total dollar amount of loans approved in 2021.
The Lender of the Year Award is based on loans made during the federal fiscal year 2021.
