The 370,000 square-foot facility will feature three full-sized indoor soccer fields, a Jonathan Byrd’s restaurant and office space. The three-day celebration will include family-friendly activities, live music and preview tours of the facility. A ribbon cutting and a 5K run/walk will also take place.
"We’re excited to invite the community to celebrate the opening of this new indoor facility," said Westfield Mayor Andy Cook. "This festival will help showcase the variety of uses that the building is capable of hosting."
The celebration will end with the Mayor’s Yellow Tie Ball Gala Event the evening of July 23. Proceeds from the entire event will benefit the Hamilton County Youth Assistance Program.
In January, Grand Park celebrated the opening of the Jonathan Byrd’s Fieldhouse indoor volleyball and basketball facility. In all, the park includes 26 baseball and softball diamonds as well as 31 multipurpose fields for sports including football, soccer and lacrosse.
A report released last month showed Grand Park’s economic impact more than doubled in 2015, compared to the previous year.
