The YMCA of Greater Indianapolis will hold a grand opening celebration in December for the city’s first full-service downtown Y. The $24 million, three-story YMCA is part of the  CityWay development near the Eli Lilly and Co. (NYSE: LLY) campus.

The project will feature an elevated running track with downtown views, two indoor swimming pools, three full-size basketball courts, a green roof and a chapel.  The facility will also have a “living wall” vertical garden and a demonstration kitchen where families can learn to make healthy meals.

Grand opening activities include:

-Exclusive Donor Reception – Thursday, December 10, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

-Charter Member Day – Monday, December 14, 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

-Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting Ceremony – Tuesday, December 15, 9:30 a.m.

-Free Community Day – Saturday, January 16, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

-YMCA Revolution Ball – Saturday, January 23, 5:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
