Goshen Health Makes Leadership Changes

He most recently served as health officer of Elkhart County. Nafziger will succeed Larry Allen, who is moving to his new position as chief physician executive with Goshen Health.
In his new role, Allen will be focus on population health strategies such as managed care, integrating patient-centered medical homes and collaborating with employers and insurance plans to share risk, according to Goshen Health.
"Controlling health costs is a national crisis – that’s one of the messages of health care reform," Allen said in a news release. "I love working in population health with the aim of providing better care, better health and lower costs. Helping people stay healthy before they get a disease is a very rewarding part of our mission."
Nafziger previously served eight years as health officer with Elkhart County. He also previously practiced medicine at Goshen Hospital and has served as an infectious disease consultant and member of the hospital’s board of directors.
The health system says Nafziger will lead the hospital quality and safety initiatives as well as medical staff services.
