Weiss, who currently practices at Vincennes Orthopedics at Good Samaritan, has been a part of the hospital since she began her career in 2005.
Weiss succeeds Charles Hedde, who passed away earlier this year. She has previous leadership experience at the hospital, serving as medical staff president for the past four years.
"We are very fortunate to have Dr. Weiss as our new Chief Medical Officer," said Rob McLin, chief executive officer of Good Samaritan. “Her experience and skill as a physician combined with her extensive knowledge of the hospital and our physicians make her a valuable asset to Good Samaritan. Dr. Weiss’ knowledge of Good Samaritan and our culture of patient care will help her make a smooth transition to this new position. We are grateful and excited that she will now be a part of our senior leadership team."
Weiss will continue her full-time practice as an orthopedic surgeon and continue to see patients. She is also a former president of the Indiana Orthopaedic Society.
