Subscribe NowGirl Scouts of Central Indiana has named Danielle Shockey chief executive officer beginning January 1. The Girl Scout alumna most recently served as deputy superintendent of public instruction for the Indiana Department of Education. In that role, she was at the forefront of Indiana K-12 education, supporting the creation of an education system of equity and high-quality for more than one million students.
Shockey’s experience at the Department of Education included leading the vision and operations of 22 distinctly different divisions such as College and Career Readiness, STEM, Career and Technical Education, special education, eLearning, federal grants, educator effectiveness, and school safety.
She also has experience as a college dean, school principal and educator. Shockey has a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Ball State University and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Indiana University.
