New Jersey-based manufacturer GAF Materials Corp. is planning a new warehouse in LaPorte County. Our partners at The Times of Northwest Indiana report ground has been broken for a 200,000-square-foot facility to house office and warehouse space in Michigan City’s Millennium Business Park.
GAF already operates a shingle manufacturing plant in Michigan City. The new building will be built on a 45-acre site, with at least 23 acres for concrete storage by Dallas-based Mohr Capital.
Mohr’s chief investment officer told The Times the company recently completed a similar project in Ennis, Texas.
“We’re able to apply those insights to this Michigan City project,” said Gary Horn, chief investment officer at Mohr Capital. “We worked closely with John Maintner, chief financial officer at GAF, to get this project off the ground and look forward to continuing to work with him and the GAF team on this and future projects.”
The new facility is expected to be complete by December and could create up to 50 new jobs.
