Duke chose the sites in Fulton and Wabash counties for the company’s 2024 Site Readiness Program, which reviews “high-potential business and industrial sites” and markets them to companies nationwide that are looking to expand or relocate.
The first site is the Rochester South Industrial Park in Fulton County. Duke Energy said in a news release the site is desirable due to its proximity to U.S. 31 as well as its “geotechnical attributes and land availability.”
The second site in Wabash County is the Wedcor Industrial Park. Wedcor has two rectangular lots that total more than 230 acres of land near an already established industrial park. Duke Energy says Wedcor has already installed all the utilities needed for development and the site is primed for construction.
As part of the Site Readiness Program, Duke is also giving each site $10,000 to help prepare them to attract buyers.
Duke began the Site Readiness Program in 2013 and since then, the company says its helped prepare 47 properties that have attracted 29 major projects and totaled $14.6 million in capital investment in Indiana.
