The program is designed to support low-income children in areas where they may have limited access to nutritious food.
The program has over 1,000 locations statewide, and families find those sites and can search by meal and day online. Locations include parks, community centers, churches, schools and mobile feeding sites. Food must be eaten on-site, unless approved.
The Summer Food Service Program is federally funded through the U.S. Department of Agriculture and administered by the IDOE.
