Frazier: Corteva HQ ‘Massive Validation’

AgriNovus Indiana Chief Executive Officer Mitch Frazier says the announcement represented “a historic week for Indiana” that continues the state’s emergence on the global agbiosience stage. “It is a massive validation for what so many have built here in Indiana and a massive validation of the incredible work that the Corteva team here in Indiana, thousands across the state, are doing each and every day that’s allowed us…to compete and win this publicly-held, global headquarters.”
Frazier talked about the impact of the Corteva decision and state of the agbioscience sector on this weekend’s edition of Inside INdiana Business with Gerry Dick.
Corteva Agriscience was formed through a combination of Indianapolis-based Dow AgroSciences, DuPont Pioneer and DuPont Crop Protection, spinning out from DowDuPont Inc. (NYSE: DWDP) in 2019. Corteva has more than 21,000 global employees, including about 2,000 in Indiana.
Since the spinout, Indianapolis has been home to a Corteva global business center and the company’s $15 billion crop protection business, but the global headquarters remained in Delaware, where it has been since the 1800’s.
Frazier notes Corteva is the second global ag giant to announce headquarters plans in Indiana in the last 14 months.
In late 2020, Greenfield-based Elanco Animal Health Inc. (NYSE: ELAN) confirmed plans to make Indianapolis the site of its consolidated global headquarters, following its $7 billion acquisition of Bayer Animal Health that created the world’s second-largest animal health company.
