The college says this is the second consecutive year the college crossed the $700,000 mark in donations to the fund, with last year being the first in college history.
“It is inspiring to the entire campus community for our alumni and friends to express their confidence in the college and its mission with such incredible generosity,” said Franklin College President Kerry Prather. “At the same time, this achievement also reflects the commitment and expertise of the development and alumni engagement staff as well as the many faculty, staff and trustees who contribute to the institutional advancement effort.”
The annual fundraising effort supports student financial aid, as well as ongoing student learning opportunities.
“Each gift helps the college support students with need-based financial assistance, making a college education possible for some who could not attend otherwise,” said Dana Cummings, vice president for development and alumni engagement. “The college is committed to providing an outstanding educational experience for each student, while maintaining a tuition rate that is as affordable as possible, and the Franklin Fund is a critical piece of the puzzle.”
