The two providers have expanded their partnership to allow RUSH surgeons to see patients and preform such surgeries at Franciscan’s Munster campus.
“We are thrilled to be able to expand our collaborative efforts with our partners at RUSH to provide more vascular surgery options for our patients in Northwest Indiana,” said Dean Mazzoni, Franciscan Health Munster President and CEO, in a news release.
The move expands on its original agreement in September 2022 to share services for cancer and neurosciences with clinical affiliations including oncology, neurology, neurosurgery and related surgical specialties.
The partners said they strive to provide coordinated and streamlined care for patients to better serve the community.
The health systems have collaborated significantly before the partnership on other matters, including advisory services to assist the Franciscan Health Olympia Fields hospital in Illinois in graduate medical education and physician recruitment, as well as bring RUSH thoracic surgeons to the Munster hospital.
