Fort Wayne’s Children’s Autism Center acquires local clinics

The acquisition will allow the organization to expand its capacity and resources while becoming more organizationally efficient, the center said Tuesday.
The sale price was not disclosed.
Child’s Play Plus clinics serve children with autism and provide both private therapy rooms and common space with the mission to “embrace the life and potential of all individuals through competent and sincere supportive services.” It has two locations in Fort Wayne, one in Huntington and one coming soon according to its website.
“This acquisition allows us to better serve children in northeast Indiana through applied behavior analysis, speech therapy and occupational therapy,” Children’s Autism Center CEO Jill Forte said in a news release. “We’re fortunate for this opportunity to grow our footprint, retain talented team members from both organizations and continue to make meaningful differences in people’s lives through a compassionate,
child-centric approach to services.”
Child’s Play Plus has 67 employees, all of whom are being retained through the acquisition. The deal brings the Children’s Autism Center’s total employee headcount to about 190.
The Children’s Autism Center was founded in 2005 and operates two facilities in Fort Wayne and one each in Angola and Columbia City.
