The list compared nearly 150 cities across several categories, including financial stability, education and health.
The cities were also evaluated on safety, economy, and infrastructure and pollution. WalletHub said each city received a “Quality of Services” score based on 36 metrics among the six categories, which was then measured against the city’s per-capita budget.
Fort Wayne is ranked No. 7 on this year’s list, down four spots from last year. The city was also ranked No. 3 for high school graduation rates.
Two other Indiana communities also made the list. Gary is ranked No. 62, a 12-point improvement over 2022. Indianapolis came in at No. 89, marking a 25-point drop from last year.
Nampa, Idaho once again tops the list, followed by Lexington-Fayette, Kentucky; Nashua, New Hampshire; Boise, Idaho; and Provo, Utah.
