“Whenever an employer looks to leave our community, it's a concern to us and the employees who will be affected by the decision. GE has expressed a willingness to continue to communicate with the City to discuss the plans they might have for the future of their property.”

The Journal Gazette in Fort Wayne says the move could affect nearly 90 workers. The planned closures are part of a larger consolidation that includes sending work to Mexico.
The paper reports GE is bargaining with union representatives and says the decision is not final.
