George Guy has been elected president of the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Organizations. He’ll occupy the role through 2025.
In the position, Guy will lead the organization that works with more than 19,500 housing and community development providers across the country.
The association said Guy’s position will require work with local, state and federal officials to weigh in on legislative initiatives that prioritize safe, affordable and equitable housing.
“I have been very fortunate to work alongside community partners and city leaders to create developments and implement programs that address the needs of our local community,” Guy said in a news release. “I am looking forward to leveraging the work we’ve done in Fort Wayne and the state of Indiana to NAHRO as we work to reduce the stigma associated with affordable housing and improve the quality of life for the families we serve.”
Guy has served as CEO of the Fort Wayne Housing Authority since 2012.
